Thomas isn’t just learning about leadership—he’s putting it into action.
As part of a structured mentoring role, Thomas has built dedicated time into his high school course schedule to travel to the elementary school and work directly with younger students. Elementary teachers sign up in advance to have Thomas come into their classrooms, where he supports hands-on learning through technology and STEM activities.
The equipment used in these lessons was funded through grants, expanding access to high-quality resources and providing students with meaningful, real-world experiences.
Through this work, Thomas is collaborating with teachers and students, learning through service and leadership, and achieving something bigger than himself—writing his own story while helping shape the stories of the next generation.
This mentoring program is part of an initiative led by Dr. Melissa Busbin through the High School CTAE Computer Science and Information Technology Pathways, designed to connect learning across grade levels and build future-ready skills.
A sincere thank you to Northside Elementary School for allowing us to pilot this program and for welcoming innovation and partnership into your classrooms.
This is what Collaborate. Learn. Achieve. looks like. 💙

Congratulations to this week’s outstanding student, Isabella Bowden, for her responsible nature and kindness in class each day! Isabella was nominated by two of her teachers - Mr. Greer and Mrs. Vance. Most recently, Mrs. Vance expressed this:
"I would like to nominate Isabella Bowden for PBIS Student of the Week. Isabella is a superior student who consistently participates in class and brings a positive presence to our classroom every single day. She goes out of her way to make others feel valued and seen, which speaks volumes about her character. While I was recently out, Isabella took the time to email me to say she was praying for me and hoping I was okay—a small gesture that made a huge impact. Her kindness and thoughtfulness truly set her apart. Isabella is also heavily involved in after-school activities, which sometimes require her to miss school. Even so, she never misses a beat. She is responsible, proactive, and works tirelessly in every spare moment to make up assignments and maintain strong grades. Simply put, Isabella makes our classroom a better place just by being in it. She is a shining example of leadership, compassion, and dedication, and she is more than deserving of this recognition. Congratulations, Isabella!" 👏💙
A special thank you to Sumner Beaumont York & Kincaid Insurance Group for sponsoring our Student of the Week recognition!
