💙 FBLA in Action: Serving Our Community 💙
This evening, some of our FBLA members had the opportunity to provide and serve a hot meal to the residents at Brother Charlie’s Mission—a powerful experience in compassion, leadership, and community service. 🍽️🤝
Students spent time fellowshipping with residents, learning more about the mission’s services, and seeing firsthand how small acts of kindness can make a big impact. They also worked side-by-side with fellow FBLA members - some they hadn’t met before - giving them a chance to build relationships and practice the soft skills that make strong future leaders. 🌟
We are incredibly proud of our students for stepping up, serving with heart, and representing our chapter with excellence. Service is leadership in action! 💼✨

📚 Serving Our Community! 🎄
Ten JROTC cadets volunteered their time to assist the Tifton Kiwanis Club during their Tri-Annual Book Wrapping Party, supporting the 24 Days of Christmas Book Drive. 🎁
Each gift set includes 24 books that will be given to a selected child, allowing them to unwrap one book per day leading up to Christmas. This initiative is dedicated to spreading holiday joy, nurturing a love for reading, and creating meaningful memories for children across the Tift County community. ❤️
A huge THANK YOU to our cadets for demonstrating service, leadership, and community spirit. 🌟

Honoring History and Heroes

Ms. Newell’s U.S. History students have been diving into World War II—studying key battles and the courage of those who fought in them. To help organize their learning for EOC preparation, students created interactive foldables highlighting major events and turning points of the war.

They also reflected on the importance of our veterans, recognizing that the freedoms we enjoy today exist because of the bravery and sacrifices of these men and women. ❤️🤍💙

🌟 Day 2 of the National FFA Convention! 🌟
FFA members started the day with the Opening Session, where the National FFA Officers officially opened the convention, and they heard an inspiring keynote from A’ric Jackson, who encouraged members to lead with purpose and confidence. 💙💛
In the afternoon, they toured Tuttle Orchards in Greenfield, Indiana — a fourth-generation family farm that’s been serving the community for over 90 years. 🍎 The Tuttles grow over 30 varieties of apples across 45 acres of orchards. Students learned about the apple growing cycle, from bloom to harvest, and how the orchard markets its apples directly to consumers through their on-site farm market, cider mill, and U-pick experiences.
It was a hands-on lesson in how innovation, diversification, and community connection keep family farms like Tuttle’s successful for generations. 🌾🍏

🔥 Work-Based Learning in Action! 🔥
Today, our Work-Based Learning Coordinators hosted Hope EMS and the Tifton Fire Department for a recruitment and information day! Students learned about real pathways to becoming a Firefighter or EMT/EMR and how they can earn industry certifications at no cost while still in high school.
Two former students who completed the program returned to share their experiences, discuss training, and inspire others to pursue careers in emergency services. Hearing directly from students who have gone through the program made a powerful impact—proof that hands-on learning opens doors to high-demand careers.
A huge thank you to Mrs. Thorne and Mr. Smith for coordinating this opportunity and for continually advocating for our students. Because of your work, our Blue Devils are gaining valuable skills, certifications, and a head start in the workforce. 💙🚒🚑

✨The ROTC program celebrated Veterans Day by engaging with all branches of the military during Golden Corral's Military Appreciation Night. Eight cadets participated in this event and had the opportunity to speak with veterans and listen to some incredible "war stories." ✨
The Veterans interviewed by the cadets will be honored during our daily "In Honor Ceremony," held during class. Each day, per block, we read a biography of a service member or first responder, then complete 25 push-ups to honor that individual. 🇺🇸
