Tift County CTI students enjoyed a college tour at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC)! 🐎💚💛 They explored campus life, student services, degree programs, clubs, scholarships, and how to apply. We ate lunch in the dining hall, and this was a highlight for many!
Big thanks to our tour guide Jordyn, Ms. Angela Manders with High School High Tech, and Dr. Cheryl Colberr for making this visit possible. One of our students already did yesterday, and others plan to submit their applications today!

🌸 Floral Design Update! 🌸
Our Floral Design students have been learning about florist hard goods and getting hands-on experience with the tools used in the floral industry. Recently, they practiced designing bud vases, learned how to use floral tape by creating flower pens, and explored floral foam by learning how to properly soak and secure it with tape.
These activities help students build the foundational skills they will use in future floral arrangements while also sparking their creativity! 🌼✂️

🌱 Hands-On Learning in Horticulture! 🌱
After learning how to transplant plugs for our upcoming plant sale, horticulture students continued building their greenhouse production skills by exploring different growing containers and growing media.
Students investigated how various media affect water retention, drainage, and aeration, then used what they learned to create their own custom growing media mixes. Each mix was used to plant spinach seeds, allowing students to experiment and test which combination works best for plant growth.
We’re excited to see which mixes produce the best results! 🌿🪴
🌱 Plant Sale Countdown Begins! 🌱
Our Agribusiness and Ag Marketing students have been getting in on the horticulture action, too! One of the most important steps in running a successful business is knowing the product, and our students are learning that from the ground up. From transplanting and watering to monitoring plant growth, they’ve been assisting in the greenhouse to better understand the plants they will help promote and sell.
Here’s a sneak peek at some of the plants being grown for our upcoming Plant Sale at the TCHS Greenhouse! 🪴
📅 March 24 & March 26
⏳ The countdown to Plant Sale Day has officially started!
Stay tuned and watch for more information coming soon about available plants, prices, and sale details! 🌼🌿
