Guest Speaker Spotlight!
TCHS was proud to welcome alumnus John Aultman as a guest speaker to our ROTC and FCS classes!
John, a 2021 TCHS graduate, attended ABAC before transferring to UGA, where he earned his B.S. in Agricultural Engineering this past May. During his senior year at UGA, John joined the U.S. Navy and completed Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island, over the summer.
He is now serving as a Nuclear Surface Warfare Officer (Ensign O-1). Currently, John is participating in the Officer Hometown Area Recruitment Program (OHARP) but will soon move to Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia, to begin his Basic Division Officer Course. In March, he’ll join the USS Nitze, where he will eventually oversee sailors who operate an aircraft carrier’s reactor and power supply systems.
We are incredibly proud of John and wish him continued success in his Navy career! ⚓️💙

Last Friday, Tift County High CTI had the privilege of hosting Dr. Tonja Cummings Tift with Georgia CTI as our guest trainer! Our students learned about Cell Phone Etiquette, Small Talk, and Creating the Right Career Path, all with a fun Halloween theme! 🎃👻
They discovered how mannerisms, tone of voice, and professional communication make a HUGE difference. Dr. Tift also taught them how to start conversations, approach others with confidence, and build meaningful connections.
Students even had the chance to practice their etiquette and small talk skills, and many walked away with a new sense of confidence for the next time they speak up! As Dr. Tift reminds us, “Perfect practice makes perfect.” 💬✨
We are truly thankful for her impact in helping our students find their path, build confidence, and develop an “I Can” attitude. Tift County High School FCCLA, CTI, TCHS Choral Department, Key Club, and HOSA members and advisors participated in Northeast Middle School’s Trunk or Treat!
FCCLA and CTI’s theme was Frankenstein, and Mrs. Vance’s ECE 2 students created “Frankenslime” to hand out to the kids. 💚 We also hosted a face painting booth that was a big hit! HOSA had games like Operation to play. Fun (and a little spooky slime) was had by all! 🧪💀
