TCHS Counseling Department is excited to announce FAFSA Fridays will be back after Christmas break. It is a time for you to come to get help filling out your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). This is free money for college based on financial need. This process can be pretty tedious and frustrating as it requires you and your parents to input tax information. The counseling office brings in a representative from the Georgia Student Finance Commission to assist you with this process. She is the expert on all things financial aid. A sign-up form will be sent out after Christmas, but we wanted to make you aware of these opportunities now to relieve any stress you may have surrounding this topic. Be on the lookout for emails and flyers with the sign-up forms after Christmas. We look forward to helping you reach your goals after graduation. #BTTY #4theT

On Thursday, March 14th, members of the class of 2024 visited all kindergarten classes in Tift County. High school students presented gifts to each kindergarten student - a personal copy of I Promise, by LeBron James. Our senior students wanted to share their love of reading with those who are starting their educational journey. Many thanks to the TCHS Local School Governance Team for purchasing these books for the students. #4theT

Mr. Jason Owen's students have been learning about the Legislative Process and got the chance to put that process to work. Students used bills they had written about any issues or causes they supported. The bills had to pass through both chambers and then a guest teacher/administrator filled the role of president. In 2nd Block Mrs. Cartright was President and in 3rd Block, Dr. Baker was President. Out of the nearly 70 bills, only 10 made it to the president and of those only 4 were signed into "law," with one being ruled unconstitutional by The SCOTUS. #4theT
