Tift County High School students in the Class of 2025 continue to demonstrate strong academic achievement on the SAT, outperforming both state and national averages.
For 2024, Tift County students recorded a mean total score of 1038, with an Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (ERW) score of 539 and a Math score of 499. By comparison, Georgia’s public-school class of 2025 earned a mean total score of 1029, with a mean ERW score of 526 and a mean Math score of 502. Nationally, public-school students averaged 996 overall, with 508 in ERW and 488 in Math. This means that Tift County students outscored the state by nine points overall and the nation by 42 points. Tift’s ERW score of 539 is 13 points higher than the state average and 31 points higher than the national average.
“Academic achievement in Tift County continues to rise because of the hard work of our students, teachers, leaders, and families,” said Superintendent Natalie Gore. “We are extremely proud of our students’ performance on the SAT, which reflects their preparation for success in college, careers, and life after graduation.”
Tift County High School Principal Jennifer Johnson added, “Our students’ results are a reflection of their determination and the dedication of our teachers who challenge and support them every day. We are proud of how our Blue Devils continue to excel and represent Tift County at the highest level.”
Statewide, participation in the SAT increased this year, with 55% of Georgia’s class of 2025 taking the exam, compared to 52% of the class of 2024 and 50% of the class of 2023. Despite the rise in participation, Georgia’s students maintained their position above the national average for the eighth consecutive year.
These data reflect the performance of students in the class of 2025 who took the SAT during high school. Test-takers are only counted once in these data with their latest score reporting.
