The Floral Design class has been learning about floral tools and special events. They learned how florists use ribbon to create arrangements and celebrated homecoming week by creating their own homecoming mums. The Boys Cross Country team placed 3rd this weekend at Dueling Summits' grueling 5K course
in Tallahassee, FL. Owen Davies ran a 17:45 to place 4th out of 162 runners; while Russ Benton ran a 17:47 to place 5th. Owen, Russ, and Jaxson Hughes all received the coveted Top 25 Dueling Summits shirts.
The Girls Cross Country team was small in number, but they ran a strong race on a tough course. Lola Reynolds placed 3rd out of 136 runners with a 5K time of 22:08. Lola also received the coveted Dueling Summits Top 25 shirt. #4theT

Out of an abundance of caution, Tift County High School was placed on a soft lockdown this morning due to a medical situation within the building. There was no threat to the safety and security of the students or staff and the school has resumed normal operations.

TCHS is thrilled to announce that, following Alfa Insurance's exclusive partnership with GHSA football last year, they're taking their commitment to the next level. This season, Mr. Jaylen Maloy, Afla Insurance agent, will honor standout Tift County football athletes by awarding a regulation-sized “Player of the Week” football and certificate to the top performer each week.
The selection process will be led by Coach Littleton, and we are delighted to share that McKenzie Graham has been chosen as the first recipient for Week 1.

TCHS had a great day competing at the Patriot Pride Wilcox County Cross County Meet. Our first meet of the season.
High School highlights include:
Russ Benton placed 8th out of 130 runners with a time of 17:08 in the 5K race. The boys cross country team placed 4th in the meet.
Lola Reynolds placed 10th out of 108 runners at 21:47 in the 5K race. Bailey Brock, a freshman, and our 2nd Tift finisher, placed in the Top 25 at 24:46. The girls' team placed 5th in the meet.
Even with a few injured runners, our boys and girls teams placed exceptionally well for the first meet of the season. #4theT
