Georgia Scholars

Tift County Schools is proud to announce that Thomas He and Pranav Shankar have been named Georgia Scholars for 2026. Last week, the Georgia Department of Education recognized 162 graduating seniors across the state with this prestigious honor.

Through the Georgia Scholar Program, GaDOE identifies and honors high school seniors who demonstrate excellence both in the classroom and in their communities. Each honoree receives a seal for their diploma and a graduation cord to recognize this outstanding achievement.

Georgia Scholars are students who carry rigorous course loads throughout their four years of high school, achieve exceptional academic success, actively participate in school and community activities, and serve as leaders in extracurricular and service organizations.

“Congratulations to the 162 students recognized as Georgia Scholars this year,” said State School Superintendent Richard Woods. “These students exemplify excellence in academics, leadership, and service. I'm proud to celebrate their achievements and confident they will continue making a positive difference in their communities and beyond.”

Tift County Schools congratulates Thomas and Pranav on this well-deserved recognition and for representing Tift County High School with excellence.
