We have appreciated Mrs Dean all month as our Principal. With October being National Principal Appreciation Month we surprised her this week with lunch. 🍊“ORANGE YOU GLAD”🍊 Mrs Dean is our Principal? We are thankful for the vision she has for Matt Wilson and the effort she puts forth each and every day to support the needs of students and staff. Her leadership and love make MWE the best place to be!

Matt Wilson will be hosting a PARENT NIGHT on Tuesday, November 4, 5:00-6:00pm -"What Parents Need to Know to Navigate the 2nd Semester" Free children's books, crayons, and activity sheets will be provided for each family.

📚 Engaging in Elementary School: What Parents Need to Know for 2nd Semester

Parents, join us for an important informational meeting at your child’s school on:

🗓 Tuesday, November 4th

📍 Each elementary school will host their own session — attend at your child’s school.

During this session, we’ll share helpful strategies and guidance on:

Academic Expectations for the 2nd semester: importance of reading at home, math fact fluency, and vocabulary

Developmental Milestones and how they connect to academic success

Studying & Organizational Skills: time management and building independence

Shifts in Attitude & Independence: supporting growth in a positive way

Healthy Communication & Emotional Regulation: tools for your child’s well-being

Managing Technology: screen time, social media, and peer influence

Navigating Friendships & Conflict

We’ll also share details about Destination Day (March 6, 2026), registration for rising 6th graders.

The “Absence Note for Tift County Schools” form is used to document a student’s absence from school (it is the same as a hand written note). The school can accept up to three handwritten notes per nine weeks; however, a doctor’s note is always accepted and preferred. The attached form helps parents or guardians provide a written explanation for their child’s absence, ensuring it is properly recorded and, when appropriate, excused in accordance with district policy.
