Congratulation to the ROTC Drill team members for taking home 10 trophies this past weekend (Feb 11) at the Lowndes High School Drill Meet.  We took 1st Place Overall.  We also placed 1st in Armed Regulation Drill, 1st in Unarmed Inspection Drill, and 1st in Color Guard Drill.  There were a total of 8 teams.  Our Drill Team Commanders were: Carmen Springer, Mellisa Rockmore, Ben Hickman, and Morgan Arnold.  A special recognition to Carmen Springer, Mellisa Rockmore, and Ben Hickman for receiving the Most Impressive Commander trophies in their events!  And Morgan Arnold making his first command appearance and leading his team to 2nd place in Armed Exhibition Drill.  A top notch job to all!

Congratulations to the ROTC Drill team members for taking home 3 trophies this past weekend at the Dutchtown High School Drill Meet.  This would not seem like much for an experienced team.  However, for a novice team this is a big deal.  We lost much of our drill experience this past year due to our seniors who graduated and to many of our experience drill members who did not return to the drill team for a number of different reasons.  Our team this year is the most novice drill team since I started working here at TCHS.  More than fifty percent of our drill team members are made up of ninth graders, first time marchers, and first time commanders!  Yet, with that being said, we took 2nd Place in Armed Exhibition, 3rd Place in Unarmed Regulation Drill, and 5th Place in Unarmed Exhibition Drill!  Amazing!

There were a total of 15 high Schools.  Our Drill Team Commanders were: Carmen Springer, Mellisa Rockmore, William Asante, Taylor Hammock, and Seth Hoover.  A special recognition goes to William Asante, Taylor Hammock, and Seth Hoover for stepping up at the last minute and taking over command of our Armed Team!   A top notch job to all!
