Members of the Blue Devil Brigade spent part of their Christmas/New Year break touring historic New Orleans, Louisiana as part of the festivities surrounding the 2017 All State Sugar Bowl. After sight seeing and shopping, the students had the opportunity to go on a swamp boat tour, Natchez dinner boat cruise as well as tour the National WWII museum. The band performed in the French Quarter at Jackson Square. But the highlight of the weekend was the band's halftime performance at the All-State Sugar Bowl. Brigade members combined with band members form 13 other high schools in the US to form a mass band that played after the Auburn and Oklahoma marching bands during halftime. The trip was enjoyed by all the students and was indeed life changing.
