Accessing the Tift County High School Campus

The administration, faculty, and staff of Tift County High School are all very excited to welcome new and returning students to our campus and to begin a new school year in our beautiful facility!  We ask that everyone please be patient with us as we navigate our new daily schedule, new building and campus layout, and larger student body. We have done our best to anticipate consequences of these changes and to plan accordingly, but sometimes reality is different than expected.  As we implement our plans for the school year, we may encounter unexpected consequences or events and will work quickly to alleviate any problems that we experience. Thank you for understanding.

Accessing the Tift County High School Campus and Building

Beginning August 13, 2018, please follow these directions for accessing the Tift County High School campus and building.  Visitors and parents must present a driver’s license or other form of picture identification upon entering Tift County High School.

Information for Students

Car Riders:  Parents and guardians who bring students to and from school should enter and exit campus from New River Church Road between the times of 7:00 a.m. until 8:15 a.m. and after 2:15 p.m.  At the front of the school building, the right driveway lane adjacent to the sidewalk is for dropping off and picking up students. The left lane is the drive through for exiting cars.  Cars should not stop in the left lane to wait for students.

Between the hours of 8:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m., entrance to the campus is from Kent Road.  Parents entering the campus from Kent Road must stop at the security gate before the attendant will grant access to the visitor parking lot or student pick-up/drop-off area at the round-about.

Students should be dropped off/picked up in front of the school at the pedestrian mall and at no other location on or near the campus.  If parents need to enter the building, they should park in the visitors’ parking lot and not along the driveway. Prior to 8:00 a.m., students should enter the building through the Commons Entrance off the pedestrian mall rather than through the Main Entrance.  After 8:00 a.m. students should enter the building through the Main Entrance and check in at the Attendance Office.

Bus Riders:  Buses enter and exit campus on Winner’s Circle Road, the bus entrance, from New River Church Road.  Buses load and unload behind the gym in the bus zone.  Student/parent vehicles may not enter/exit the bus zone during school hours.

Student Drivers:  Before 8:00 a.m. and after 3:12 p.m., student drivers should enter and exit campus at the student entrance from Kent Road directly into the student parking lot.  Between 8:00 a.m. and 3:12 p.m., the student parking lot entrance from Kent Road will be locked. All students must enter the campus through the secure, visitor entrance from Kent Road and stop at the security gate before gaining access to the student parking lot.  All students who park on campus must park in the student parking lot, must have purchased a parking permit from Tift County High School, and must display the permit by hanging it from the rear-view mirror of their vehicle.
