TCHS SkillsUSA headed to National Championships

I wanted to take the time to ask everyone for your consideration in assisting the Tift County High School SkillsUSA State Championship team in their effort to participate in the SkillsUSA National Championships.

Students recently competed at the State Championships in Atlanta, Georgia, and 17 students placed 1st in the State, bringing home gold medals and State Champion Titles. Our next step is to attend the National Championships, and represent not only TCHS and Tift County, but the entire state of Georgia!

Students will compete in the following categories:

3d Drafting and Design
Robotics and Automation
Humanoid Robotics
Health Knowledge/Technology
Mobile Robotics

SkillsUSA is a Career & Technical Student Organization that promotes career readiness in areas of work ethics, soft skills, and vocational and technical competencies. As an educator, it is encouraging to see these students excited, preparing, and planning for a competition that allows them to showcase their career skills and abilities with the same enthusiasm one would see at a sporting event. If you have an opportunity, please speak to these students, and see what a difference these organizations make in their lives, their education, and their careers.

Students have received sponsorship to cover some of the costs. However, there is still a significant cost to cover in order to participate, including hotels, registration, tools, etc. If you are interesting in supporting our team, please visit the webpage at the link below:

If you wish to donate, but are unable to do so via the webpage, you may direct all donations to Tift County High School Mechatronics, to the attention of Joe Sumner or John Tucker.
